Meet Birdie!

BIRDIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME
Who could resist that face?
Birdie is a wonderful dog being fostered through CARE (www.carepets.org), a rescue organization in San Jose, California.

Quietly contemplating the great outdoors (aka my backyard)

Birdie is a young 45 pound female bulldog-dalmation mix. Found wandering on the freeway with a torn rope around her neck, her sweet and sassy disposition has made her a CARE favorite.

With her Dalmation spots, English bulldog body (and adorable waddle) and lovely face complete with perfect black ‘eyeliner’ over each deep brown eye, Birdie is a stunning girl who gets lots of notice when out and about. She is a real ‘velcro dog’: deeply devoted to her person, she lives to be next to you, loves to cuddle and will even snuggle with you under the covers in bed.

Birdie has a great ability to focus on her person and combined with her smarts she would make a great obedience or agility dog. Birdie is also a fun exercise buddy and loves her walks and jogs. Her foster home is even teaching her to run alongside a bike!

Birdie is very playful but generally a quiet girl (i.e. she’s not a barker!). The exception is when is happy: she makes a fun “Woo Woo” sound and little grunts. An extremely social girl, she loves meeting new friends of any age.

"Wanna play?"

Birdie’s foster person, Jordi, has done a lot of work with her to make her a very easy dog to live with. She happily goes into crate on command, is house trained, basic obedience trained (sit, stay, down, off, up, etc.), and walks nicely on leash.
